Three ways to Vote

Voting is an essential way to make your voice heard and shape the future of South Brunswick.

Whether you prefer to vote in person or by mail, here’s a step-by-step guide to the three ways you can cast your ballot for the upcoming election on November 5.

1. Vote by Mail

If you prefer the convenience of voting from home, voting by mail is a secure and easy option.

  • Step 1: Apply for a Mail-in Ballot
You can apply for a mail-in ballot by filling out an application with the county clerk’s office. You can either download the application online or request it by mail.

  • Step 2: Complete Your Ballot
Once you receive your ballot, carefully fill it out according to the instructions provided. Be sure to check for any local measures or candidate selections.

  • Step 3: Return Your Ballot
Mail your completed ballot back in the envelope provided. Be sure to sign where required and mail it early to ensure it’s received by Election Day. You can also drop it off at a secure ballot drop box near you or at your county election office.

Key Date: Your mail-in ballot must be postmarked by November 5 and received by the county clerk by November 10 for it to count.

2. Vote Early In-Person

Early voting allows you to cast your ballot in person before Election Day, avoiding long lines and any potential delays.

  • Dates for Early Voting:
Early voting will take place from October 28 through November 3.

  • How to Vote Early In-Person:
Visit a designated early voting location in South Brunswick. You will use a machine to cast your vote just like you would on Election Day. Be sure to bring your ID or voter registration card to the location.

Locations: You can find a list of early voting locations on the official New Jersey election website.

3. Vote In-Person on Election Day

Prefer to vote in person on Election Day? Here’s what you need to know:

  • Date: Election Day is Tuesday, November 5, and polls will be open from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

  • Polling Locations:
Find your polling place by checking your voter registration card or visiting the South Brunswick election website.

  • What to Bring:
Bring your ID (driver’s license, passport, or other government-issued identification) and be prepared for a quick check-in at your polling location. If you are not sure where to go, you can use the voter lookup tool on the official website.
